Kimberley King is a passionate leader in the Canadian meetings and events industry. A proud founding board member of the Atlantic Canada Chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) and a Past President, Kim has led the industry from the inside out. As a member of IASB (International Association of Speakers Bureaus) she offers clients a global reach on speakers, celebrities and subject matter experts.  

Kimberley studied at Mount St. Vincent University Public Relations program in Halifax, Nova Scotia and graduated from the Advertising and Public Relations program of Grant MacEwan in Edmonton, Alberta.  She is a recent graduate of the Virtual Event & Meeting Management Course - Event Learning Institute and holds the PCMA Digital Event Strategist Designation (DES).

Having worked with a broad range of professional speakers, high profile celebrities and business leaders, Jeff deeply understands how to build impactful presentations that connect with audiences and create strategic value through effective profile building and speaking.

Jeff previously was a Conference Co-Chair of TEDxToronto for 3 years.

Martin Perelmuter is an unapologetic idealist. He is passionate about people and ideas and, after 25 years in the speaking industry, believes more than ever that a great speech can provide the impetus for action and be a catalyst for change.

Prior to co-founding Speakers’ Spotlight, Martin was a corporate lawyer at a prestigious international law firm. He learned some incredibly valuable best practices that have shaped his approach to client service and business management.

Martin is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Western Ontario, and the Faculty of Law at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.

In 2000 Tuesday left the not-for-profit world and established an entrepreneurial enterprise, Tap Resources, an event management firm specializing in Indigenous events.   Her journey as an entrepreneur has been both engaging and intimidating, while providing her a lifetime of funny stories, embarrassing moments and glorious personal growth!    

Tuesday is a trail blazer in her field evident in the recognition and honours presented to her by the meeting industry.  

She is noted as saying, ‘I’m living a dream I never realized I had’.

Michelle Planche, CMP

President, Michelle Planche, CMP has been producing large events across the country for over 25 years. She specializes in producing and planning creative galas, fundraising events and corporate conferences. She is known for her creative flair and experiential approach to event planning.

She is the founder and creator of The Art of Fashion, Girlfriends' Getaway Weekend, XMUS Festival and Community Craft Beer Festival to name a few.

Michelle is the host of Event TV, a youtube channel and is a professor at York University teaching Entrepreneurship and Event Planning.

Michelle believes in having a strong network, always pushing yourself to learn, work hard, play hard and making sure you are having fun in life! 

Bettyanne Sherrer, CMP, CMM, DES

Bettyanne is a sought-after event veteran, so seasoned she is marinated…with almost 30 years on the front lines of in-person, large-scale event design and production, Bettyanne has now added a number of large virtual events to her resume.  

She is a multiple award-winning strategic event planner and producer, who is, to date, the only Canadian Event Prof to be inducted into the Hall of Fame twice.  The principle and owner of ProPlan Conferences & Events, a CanSPEP Past President, industry speaker and volunteerism addict,

Shari’s specialties include administration, governance, leadership, strategic thinking, and event/conference planning and execution.  Shari has frequently presented at various industry events in North America and globally.  Events (and now Virtual) are her passion!

Jonathan N. Strauss

Jonathan founded Strauss event & association management, Canada’s first AMC Institute accredited association management company, in 1995, at the age of 16.  Since then, Jonathan has been continuously growing both his knowledge and the company’s client base. 

The company currently manages seven national and four regional associations, as well as many large-scale events, trade shows and conferences each year, both in person and virtual.  Jonathan currently sits on the executive of two of the company’s largest clients - The Pedorthic Association of Canada and the Promotional Product Professionals of Canada.

As founder and president of the company, Jonathan loves seeing his staff collaborate and work together. He surrounds himself with an inventive, and dependable team that help bring his vision for the company and clients to life.

Constance Wrigley-Thomas, Owner/CEO, Essentient Association Management, has worked within the not-for-profit sector for over 30 years. 

An experienced and skilled association professional, she has honed her skills in all aspects of association management including governance, marketing & communications, government relations and event/conference planning and management. 

Constance is a prominent leader in the Association Management Company (AMC) space.  Constance is an active member of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE) and is Past Chair of CSAE Trillium. 

She is the current President of the AMC Institute Canadian Chapter.

Korinne’s current role as Vice President of Education & Events is focused on the delivery of educational services and design of conferences for the credit union system’s 28,000 employees and 2500 directors across Canada.  Previous roles include the leading learning teams at CIBC, IBM and PwC. 

Korinne currently serves as Chair of the Public Services Health & Safety Association (PSHSA) for the Ontario Government and sits on an advisory panel for the Canadian Securities Institute (CSI).  Previously, Korinne served on the Board of the Institute for Performance and Learning for 5 years, and for 2 years held the role of Chair.

Judy Lu

Judy Lu is the Events Manager at MNP LLP, one of the largest full-service chartered accountancy and business advisory firms in Canada. Judy started her career in the hospitality industry working for various hotel chains in revenue management and sales and catering department. 

She joined Deloitte’s national events team in 2011 and moved to MNP in 2014 leading the firm’s events department. 

Judy holds her MBA degree from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto.
