50 Shades of Beige: Rethinking How We Speak to Our Diverse Audiences
Sunday, December 8th at 6:30 p.m.
Audiences are becoming more diverse than ever before. Successful speakers recognize that implementing the ‘diversity advantage’ when it comes to language used on stage can create a more inclusive environment where everyone belongs. Visuals such as video and Powerpoint can assist those where English is a second language and images used should reflect the diversity of the organization. Even the language speakers use on websites can unconsciously bias meeting planners. The ‘golden rule’ is treat audiences the way you wish to be treated. The ‘platinum rule’ is treat audiences the way they wish to be treated leading to a fun, inclusive and inspiring experience where everybody benefits.
