The 10 Hidden Gender Differences and Why It Matters for Speakers

Audiences respond based on their largely unconscious beliefs, values and the metaphors they live by. While current research shows that these are often gender-based, this has not been my experience. Whichever of the genders your audience members have, what matters is whether YOU KNOW WHEN they are operating from the Traditional Male or Traditional Female Model. Your approach can turn on or turn off your audience.

No Pomp, Just Circumstance: Fewer Than 1% of Speaker Websites Make the Grade - Is Yours One of Them? (Two-Part Session)

Part-One: The 2019 Worldwide Speakers Digital Footprint Survey is the most extensive so far. It comprises a detailed analysis of over 1,000 websites belonging to members of professional speaking associations, in more than 10 countries across 3 continents. Part-One will examine these results.

You can get your own copy of the worldwide report from: https://speakerbusinessbuilder.com/research

Part-Two: Sadly, the overwhelming majority of speakers’ websites fall short in many vital areas. If fact, fewer than 1% of the sites surveyed scored top marks across the board. The good news for the remaining 99.6% is that some of the shortfalls are ‘fix and forget’ and once resolved, help improve search engine results.

It’s time to recognise that we’re knocking on the front door of the third decade of the 21st century. Outdated websites leave speakers in technology dead-ends; unable to implement new approaches that would boost their online marketing. This session goes beyond the survey results and also delivers compelling reasons – and demonstrations – as to why speakers need to actively and continually invest in an up to date web presence.

Evolution of Video: What's Next? (Two-Part Session)

Have you ever wished you could see into the future?

To know with some degree of certainty what will be happening a year from now?

Five or ten years from now?

Few superpowers would be more useful for professional speakers than to be able to discern with full confidence the important developments, trends and key disruptors that will impact our strategic and creative decisions over the next 12-to-60 months. Paramount among those shifts is the emergence of VIDEO and the role it plays in launching and sustaining a successful speaking career. As we reach the end of the year, there are two things we can say for certain for 2020 and beyond:

  1. Content marketing via VIDEO will become even more vital.
  2. If you can’t build and maintain your brand through VIDEO, there is a good chance you won’t be in the speaking business much longer.

In this session, you will discover answers to questions such as:

  • How many different types of videos are out there, and which ones are mission-critical?
  • What does the "sizzle reel" of the future look like?
  • How much of myself do I share on video?
  • How does my own brand identity influence topic selection?
  • What role does scripting play in the creative process?
  • How consistent do I need to be in terms of publishing video?
