If you are an expert who speaks, whether you
keynote, train, consult in person or online

You Belong Here!!

The Canadian Association of Professional Speakers (CAPS) presents our annual Convention
December 8-10, 2019 in London, Ontario.

CAPSCon2019 is a “must attend” event for professional speakers, trainers, facilitators,
and consultants who want to take their business to the next level!

The first year I was at the CAPS convention, I was blown away by the level of expertise on the stage. That is, of course, expected at a quality event. The difference was, when the speakers were done speaking, they came and sat at my table. I had dinner with media moguls and global leaders, all of which asked, “how can I help you.” I have never been to an event that was so inclusive and supportive.

London, Ontario

I have never felt so warmly welcomed by a group of strangers as I did at my first CAPS Convention. The quality of learning was phenomenal, catering to a wide range of business models and phases of business development. I was so impressed that I registered for this year's Convention from the airport before flying home.

I was completely blown away by the quality of the programming at this conference. I have been to so many where the “hidden agenda” of upselling you into their programs was not so hidden. This one offered a huge variety of truly valuable information, as well as inspiration and watching some amazing speakers ‘strut their stuff’ on stage. That, plus the sense of community that developed right away is the reason I go back year after year.

One of a Kind...a convention with commitment, creativity and cause. I learn and grow and laugh more at a CAPS Convention then any other convention I have ever attended.

Arriving at the convention from South Africa, I knew but a handful of CAPS members. This all changed within a matter of minutes, being welcomed by everyone in the most amazing manner. CAPS really lives up to the mantra of Learn, Share, Grow, Belong. I learned a ton, shared a lot, grew immensely, and by the end of the convention felt like I had been a member for years - I belonged! Phenomenal convention, I'll fly back for it every time I can!

The CAPS experience is supported by four pillars: Learn Share Grow Belong.

The annual CAPS Convention is the place where you have the option to work on EVERY aspect of your business.  You can learn everything from:

  • how you present on stage
  • to making your content sing
  • to marketing yourself
  • to building additional revenue
  • to the latest trends in your industry
  • to the tools everyone is using
  • to tips for taking your business global
  • - and more.

If you have a question about the speaking business - you are surrounded by the best in the business who are warm, caring and ready to help. "How can I help" is one of the most commonly asked questions at CAPS, and we mean it when we ask. We have all been there.

You can’t find this anywhere else.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answer: There are certainly many ways you can be spending your time, including with a client or your family. So why would you want to (or need to) come to the CAPS Convention?

We’ve been asking this question as well. One person we surveyed suggested, "Only to reduce your learning curve in helping clients, make more money and have more fun." Here Are 5 Really Awesome Reasons To Come To CAPSCon2019:

1. Choose from 30+ Sessions to help you grow your business and stand out as an exceptional, professional speaker.
2. Learn insights and best practices from experts in:
    a. Marketing for speakers
    b. Stagecraft
    c. Storytelling
    d. Video production
    e. Online product development and sales
    f. LinkedIn, Facebook and other social media platforms.
3. Learn what it takes to connect with meeting planners, speaker bureaus, and other decision makers.
4. Network with some of the world's most influential and successful speakers.
5. You Belong Here - Because this is the place to Learn - Share - Grow - Belong as a professional speaker.
Whether you have been speaking for 30 years on stages, you have been teaching inside your corporation, or you have a desire and a message you want to share but don’t yet know where to start, this convention is for you. This event is for speakers, trainers, facilitators, and coaches. It is about networking, collaboration and learning how to do your business of speaking better.
The content that makes you an expert, is not what makes you a 'desired' speaker. Like all ‘crafts of excellence’, becoming a successful speaker requires learning, applying, and practice. Becoming a desired speaker requires knowing what a great speaker looks like, what your industry is looking for, how to craft the right marketing materials, how to reach the appropriate contact, how to deliver your message, and how to look after you clients. It is a business that requires your full attention, on top of your expertise. The CAPS Convention addresses these areas, so that you can move your speaking business forward, and become a 'desired' speaker in today's crowded market.
As one member replied, "No. You do not need to be a speaker to attend, but if you want to hang around 250 highly motivated people who can talk your ear off, perhaps this is a convention for you too! Seriously… if you are a speaker, trainer, facilitator, coach, or a supplier to speakers, you will find tremendous value in attending this convention."
First, this is truly an investment for you to increase the income from your speaking business.
